(Herald Extra) It takes a lot of careful, thoughtful planning and coordination to orchestrate a large-scale event such as Salt Lake Comic Con, so many fans were disappointed yet understanding when convention co-founders Dan Farr and Bryan Brandenburg made the initial judgment call following SLCC 2016 to skip over its traditional partner convention, Salt Lake Comic Con FanXperience, in lieu of creating an even bigger and better show for Comic Con 2017.

The break would allow the duo and their team to give extra attention to the next Salt Lake Comic Con, as well as focus on their similar FanXperience events across the globe.

The disappointment didn’t last long, though: Less than two months after Salt Lake Comic Con 2016 wrapped up and the initial announcement was made that there would be no FanX, Brandenburg took to Facebook to let followers know the more intimate, fan-based FanXperience was back on the calendar and set to be the most affordable and intimate convention yet.
