Salt Lake Comic Con’s Marketing Team are looking for talented, dynamic and driven interns to join our team for the Salt Lake Comic Con 2017 season! Community Outreach, Customer Service, Graphic Design, Marketing Events, PR/Media Relations, Social Media and Web Development internships are all available.

It is our goal to instill the basic teachings of marketing and public relations. We hope to provide an excellent opportunity to get hands-on training, gain new skills, and grow your resume at an exciting company. Interns will be working for school credit, Salt Lake Comic Con 2017 passes, and a behind-the-scenes experience at the big event.

MARKETING EVENTS INTERN

Salt Lake Comic Con is looking for dynamic, outgoing Marketing Events Intern. Assistant will provide general administrative and event planning support to manager and other Salt Lake Comic Con team members in the areas of marketing events. It will be an excellent opportunity to get exceptional training, gain new skills, and grow with an exciting new company. It is our goal to instill the basic teachings of marketing and event planning. We hope to provide an excellent opportunity to get hands-on training, gain new skills, and grow your resume at an exciting company.

Current college students who are interested in working for school credit, Salt Lake Comic Con 2017 passes and perks, and a behind-the-scenes experience at the big event are welcome to apply. Candidate should be studying Public Relations, Marketing, Communications, Business, or a similar field with a strong interest in Salt Lake Comic Con.

Requirements:

  • Comfortable making first contact in person, on the phone, or via email with potential partners
  • Must have strong PC skills and technology/social media skills
  • Excellent writing skills including grammar, spelling, and attention to detail and format
  • A mature, accountable individual with excellent time management and organization skills
  • Comfortable speaking on the phone with excellent phone presence
  • Must be very organized, multitask and flexible for changing
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be enthusiastic, articulate, poised and professional with a positive attitude
  • Must be good at working as part of a team
  • Be able to learn quickly and be trained on special software packages and applications
  • Have access to a personal computer with internet access to be able to work virtually.
  • A reliable car and driver’s license.
  • Experience using Google Docs is a plus.

Salary:

  • Candidates must be eligible for school credit, as this is an unpaid internship. Credit can be earned for Summer or Fall 2017 semesters with cooperation with your internship program. Intern will receive Salt Lake Comic Con 2017 passes and other staff perks.

Availability:

  • Our Community Outreach Intern would need to be available at least 15 – 25 hours per week either in the office or at promotional events. Must have weekends available. Depending on their work performance, intern will be allowed to work on projects from home.
  • Must be completely available to work on-site at the Salt Palace Convention Center Wednesday, September 20 through Saturday, September 23, 2017 for the Salt Lake Comic Con 2017 event.
  • Internship will begin after interviews have been completed and will end on Monday, October 2, 2017 when a short follow-up meeting will happen after the show.

Salt Lake Comic Con 2017

SOCIAL MEDIA INTERN

Intern will assist Social Media Manager and other Salt Lake Comic Con marketing team members with social media account maintenance, event announcements, content curation, copywriting, customer service, and assorted special projects leading up to Salt Lake Comic Con 2017.

The Social Media Intern will also serve as a member of the Salt Lake Comic Con 2017 Social Media Team and will assist in covering the event live on our official social media channels. We hope to provide an excellent opportunity to get hands-on training, gain new skills, and grow your resume at an exciting company.

Current college students who are interested in working for school credit, Salt Lake Comic Con 2017 passes and perks, and a behind-the-scenes experience at the big event are welcome to apply. Candidate should be studying Marketing, Communication, or a similar field with a strong interest in Salt Lake Comic Con and social media marketing.

Requirements:

  • Avid social media user. Very comfortable using Facebook, Twitter, Google Plus, Pinterest, Tumblr, Instagram, Snapchat, and others.
  • Must be very comfortable using a computer and social media apps.
  • A mature, accountable individual with excellent time management and organization skills. Experience using Basecamp is a plus.
  • Excellent writing skills including grammar, spelling, and attention to detail and format.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to follow verbal and written directions.
  • Have access to a personal laptop, a smartphone that can access Instagram, Snapchat, Twitter, etc., reliable internet access, and reliable transportation.
  • Experience using Google Docs is a plus.

Salt Lake Comic Con 2017

COMMUNITY OUTREACH INTERN

Salt Lake Comic Con is looking for dynamic, outgoing Community Outreach Intern. You’ll work with comic book shops and other businesses to create mutually beneficial partnerships and promotions. In this position, you will come up with creative promotional opportunities and handle fulfillment. This can include things like putting welcome signs in business windows, enter-to-win contests, providing discount coupons, mailing posters, selling tickets to Salt Lake Comic Con, etc. You will work with businesses primarily in Utah. Some travel (not further than a 40-60 minute drive) will be necessary.

Current college students who are interested in working for school credit, Salt Lake Comic Con 2017 passes and perks, and a behind-the-scenes experience at the big event are welcome to apply. Candidate should be studying Public Relations, Marketing, Communications, Business or similar field with a strong interest in Salt Lake Comic Con.

You will work with Salt Lake Comic Con’s creative department to ensure the completion of official Salt Lake Comic Con collateral, assets and artwork. In this position, you will gain experience in graphic design, marketing, advertising and creating promotional materials in real time for a fast-paced company that is on the cutting edge of creative innovation. We hope to provide an excellent opportunity to get hands-on training, gain new skills, and grow your resume at an exciting company.

Current college students who are interested in working for school credit, Salt Lake Comic Con 2017 passes and perks, and a behind-the-scenes experience at the big event are welcome to apply. Candidate should be studying Graphic Design, Visual Communications, Digital Art, Photojournalism, Cinematography or a similar field with a strong interest in Salt Lake Comic Con.

This internship is ideal for skilled students, who are looking to learn and be challenged by a highly creative work environment, while building a killer portfolio.

Requirements:

  • Powerful visual and aesthetic standard with a competent grasp of design principles.
  • Online portfolio with samples that would optimally cover illustration, graphic design, typographic design and fine art.
  • Proficient in using Adobe Photoshop and other Creative Cloud Applications . Final Cut Pro or other Video Application proficiency is a bonus.  
  • Heavy emphasis on photoshop masking skills.
  • Proficiency with WordPress is a big bonus, particularly if possessing programming skill.
