One panel, two Doctors!

Colin Baker is best known as the sixth incarnation of The Doctor in the long-running science fiction television series Doctor Who from 1984 to 1986. He made his first appearance in Doctor Who as Commander Maxil in the story Arc of Infinity. Producer John Nathan-Turner described Baker’s performance as being “quite arch” and a little sassy. Maxil was one of the few characters actually to shoot the Doctor, then played by Peter Davison. At the time of Baker’s casting as Davison’s successor, he became the only actor portraying the Doctor to have appeared in the television series as another character prior to taking on the leading role.

Paul McGann played the eighth incarnation of the Doctor in the Doctor Who 1996 television film. The television film also starred Eric Roberts, Daphne Ashbrook and featured the outgoing Seventh Doctor, Sylvester McCoy. Paul McGann reprised his role as the Eighth Doctor in the mini-episode “The Night of the Doctor”. In this appearance his incarnation of the Doctor finally regenerates, 17 years after his first television appearance, into a previously unknown Doctor played by John Hurt.

In a rare event, see these classic Doctors on the same stage at Salt Lake Comic Con! Colin and Paul will be holding a panel in the South Ballroom at 4:00 p.m.
