Urban Arts Gallery: Star Wars Art Exhibit & May the Fourth Celebration

On May 4th, join Salt Lake Comic Con and Urban Arts Gallery from 6-9pm for an evening of art and Star Wars! Check out Star Wars-themed art by local artists, and participate in the costume contest or vote on your favorite costume.   There will be cosplayers, photo opportunities, activities for kids, chances to win tickets, and MORE!

The Urban Arts Gallery is located inside the Gateway Mall on the south end under the bridge by the theaters at 137 S Rio Grande St. near Summer Parking & the TRAX Planetarium Stop. The Urban Arts Gallery is operated by the non-profit Utah Arts Alliance who’s programs include the Urban Arts Festival which is Utah’s largest free community art event. Costume Contest – 8PM

All-ages and levels welcome to compete in the Star Wars Day Costume Contest! Sign-up at Urban Arts Gallery starting at 7:30pm. Costume contest will start at 8pm. Winners determined by judges. Win a pair of Salt Lake Comic Con 2016 Multipasses!

Not into competing? Wear a costume to the Star Wars Art Exhibit & May the 4th Celebration, get a FREE Thursday Pass for celebrating with us. Visit our table at the event to claim your pass.


We invite kids ages 1-12 to enter our Star Wars Day Coloring Contest!
1. If you’re attending the event, stop by our coloring station to pick up a coloring page. Kids can color it at the event, or take it home with them. Have our team at Urban Arts Gallery snap a photo of their finished work before you leave. If finishing up at home, please email a photo of the coloring page to support@slcomiccon.com by Wednesday, May 11 at 5:00pm.
2. Not able to attend? Download the coloring page and print it out at home. Have your kids color the page, then email a photo of it to support@slcomiccon.com by Wednesday, May 11 at 5:00pm.
3. Make sure the name, age, and parent’s email fields are filled out and legible.
Age groups will be judged by our own KidCon team in the following age ranges: ages 1-4, ages 5-8, and ages 9-12.
Kids ages 1-8 years old can win one Salt Lake Comic Con 2016 Multipass (an adult pass which includes 2 child passes for ages 2-8 years old).
Kids ages 9+ can win a Multipass and a Youth Pass to Salt Lake Comic Con 2016.
