I was able to take my 3 year old daughter to fan-x this year and she loved every bit of it!! She has seen things about comicon around and now asks almost daily if we can go again. But this year life has thrown some wrenches is being able to save up to buy tickets this year so I don’t think I’ll be able to take her. This would be so amazing if I was picked for this. It would make a very very happy little girl!!!!!!!

  2. Brandy Blackerby says:

I would like to nominate my sister Jennifer Saunders! At FanX she volunteered all 3 days from Open to Close & couldn’t take her Kids to enjoy the convention! They went to a baby sitter while she volunteered! Jennifer reply wanted to volunteer for this one as well but she couldn’t find anyone to watch her kids so she is planning on doing it in April again so to be able to take her kids to this one WOULD BE AMAZING! She is a HARD WORKING SINGLE MOM & is always volunteering & helping people out! It would be GREAT TO BE ABLE TO WATCH HER TAKE HER KIDS & JUST ENJOY TIME TOGETHER! PRETTY PLEASE CONSIDER HER & HER 2 KIDS FOR THIS! She won’t be able to attend otherwise!!
Thank You So Much For This Opportunity!!

  3. Candice says:

We are renovating a 1 acre property, and we do not have enough money to go to Comic-Con, it would make my daughter and I really happy to win one of these! =)

  4. Douglas Roberts says:

As a father, my greatest joy is to see my children smile.

When we play Superheroes, we live in the pure joy of the moment….

To Forget all our cares and live for this one moment: now.

Thank you, for giving us hope.

  5. Joseph Thomson says:

I was looking forward to Comic Con all year, one of my best friends ( JOE NARUS) is practically a resident to comic con events, I have never been to one and I have been saving up all to even just get a one day pass. But things have changed, being an adult and all, moving out and putting all my comic con money into getting a new place to stay, I was supper bummed. Meeting Stephen Amell ( ARROW) and Jason David Frank ( Dr. Tommy Oliver) has always been my dream since I seen the pilot of Arrow, and since the very first time i seen Tommy as a green ranger, over 20 years ago, he literally was the reason for 4 straight halloweens i was a power ranger (Green, White, Red Zeo, and Red Turbo). I have never won any contest in my life, but if there was one that i wanted to win more than any others it would definitely have to be this one, so ill keep my hopes up on this one 🙂 but even if I dont, i want to thank Rocky Mountain Chevy Dealers for granting people this oppertunity

    Joseph

  6. Marcia says:

I would have my whole family go to comic con. My son and daughter in law would love to go but they do not have the money. I’ve been trying to figure it out. Please help my son and daugher in law….

  7. Holly Cragun says:

I don’t need one, but my little sister, Caitlin Cragun, does! She is a student at USU who works nights. She loves Hercules and has been totally fangirling over your guest list.

  8. emilie Ozmore says:

My husband won a multi pass from the press conference and I really want to go with him but we can’t afford another ticket we are currently doing fertility treatments and it’s $800+ a month. We will find out on the 5th if this round worked, and would love to celebrate it together at comic con 2014!

  9. Todd Bliss says:

I would really like to go to comi-con this year but with my water heater needing to be replaced it took all the money so i really need some help with a pass please

  10. Scott says:

My loving wife made sure that my daughter and I got our tickets but didn’t budget for her own. It would be awesome to be able to go with her too

  11. Terri Falah says:

If I won these I would be able to give them to the two people that have helped me through some tough times lately. I believe in paying it forward & would love the opportunity to make their day!!!. Thanks to Rocky Mountain Chevy Dealers and Bumblebee for the opportunity to apply for the scholarship.

  12. NilaDe Tabbee says:

I am a single mom on a fixed income. My daughter keeps begging me to go, she even said she would clean the whole house! The only problem is we live about 150 miles away so I could get us there, but can’t afford the tickets!!!!!!!!!!

  13. Shelby Beckstead says:

My sister and I have been trying to get tickets to go so we could get the power ranger guests autographs for our older disabled brother who absolutely loves them. But none of our family has had the money to get tickets. It would help quite a bit. ^^

  14. Debra Lundgreen says:

I am a single mother and my 15 year old son is in to science fiction and all the Comic-Con he has been bugging for months to buy him tickets so that we can go and I just can’t afford it. I would love to be able to take him though. It would make him so happy if I could take him.

  15. Giselle Vickery says:

Winning tickets to Comic Con would be a huge deal to my boyfriend and me. We both work full time and go to school full time plus we are also full time geeks. So basically money is always pretty tight. We would both be ecstatic for an opportunity to spend what money we do have set aside to meet some of our heroes and not necessarily on tickets, there is no way we could do both. If we win you would be making some of the coolest hard working kids super pumped on life and give us something to look forward to!

  16. MBJ says:

Thank you for offering this scholarship opportunity!! My kids are asking daily how many more days until comic con. Especially my 12yr old daughter she is soooooo excited for comic con! She’s been planning her costumes for months. I’m a single parent working 2 jobs and it still seems there is never enough money to do anything fun. I will have to pay for gas, parking, food and of course she’ll want some merch so not having to pay the cost of the tickets would really help!

  17. Felicity Dawn says:

I want this opportunity because it is an event me and my sister have been looking forward too – for months. But the financial strain of putting ourselves through college (at the U), has made it so we probably can’t go otherwise.

  18. Cindy says:

Would love to attend and bring my son who is the biggest comic geek I know. But because of financial reasons cannot afford the tickets

  19. Molly U says:

My husband and I would love a weekend to ourselves! Most of our extra money and time goes to treatment for our son’s autism. And going to comic con Saturday would be a great way to celebrate after the autism walk!

  20. Samuel Shreeve says:

Thank you for the opportunity for this scholarship. I am a college student with a new baby, and there isn’t enough money left over for things like this, but I would love to go. One of my dreams is to meet Brandon Sanderson, who is going to be there on Saturday.

  21. Angi says:

My boyfriend and I barely have money to pay our rent and bills. He does roadside assistance for his job and helps people every day, even when he’s not on shift, he’ll stop and help whoever needs it. I promised him we’d go to comic con this year, since we didn’t make it to FAN x. But then I lost my job and cannot buy tickets for us to attend. It was supposed to be a belated birthday gift for him. And I can’t help but feel I’ve let him down. It would mean the world to win tickets so I can follow through.

  22. Melissa F. says:

I would love the opportunity to go to Comic Con! I didn’t get a chance to go last year and I was very sad to have missed it. I spent the money that I saved for Comic Con on donating to ALSA.org for the Ice Bucket Challenge, so now I can’t afford Comic Con passes. One of my friends has a film that is screening at Comic Con this year and I would love to be able to go to show support for him. I am also a super nerd and I love everything about Comic Con. If you can find it in your heart to gift a pass to me, I would be so excited and grateful! May the Force Be With You!!

  23. Ashley Schmidt says:

    Rocky Mountain Chevy Dealers….
In June, I lost one of my best friends, my little brother Jason. He was only 21 and it has been absolutely devastating. I would love to attend Comic Con for the first time ever and go with my other brother, Aaron, in honor of our little brother. We grew up playing video games together, watching Robin Hood Men in Tights, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and The Big Bang Theory. The laughs we had will be cherished forever and missed like I can’t describe. I really really dream of attending on Saturday, or multiple days, and meeting Simon Helberg so I can have him sign a Big Bang Theory shirt that I had given Jason as a gift and he wore all the time. It’s a “Rock, paper, scissors, lizard, Spock” shirt. Eliza Dushku is also a personal hero of mine. While I’m there, I hope to be able to share my brother’s story to spread some awareness about suicide and mental illness. With Robin William’s passing, we have all seen how this can affect anyone around us, even if they seem to have it all and are such a light to us. These topics are rarely discussed or understood and I will do what I can in my life to spread awareness, understanding, erase stigmas, and help anyone I can. In honor of my brother, I must do this. And I would love to enjoy the day with my other brother and take a walk down memory lane. I know he will love it. He is amazing with computers, art, writing, and games. Both of my brothers are/were so intelligent, creative, and kind-hearted. I love nothing more than being their big sis. Let’s spread the love to everyone we may meet in this life. <3

  24. John Smith says:

Well, hard times are hitting everyone. Us too. Willing to take some time off from work if we can get some tickets. Just can’t afford everything that would be needed.

  25. Jake says:

I have always loved everything nerd, but I have never been able to afford being able to go to comic con (everything nerd). I love ninja turtles, transformers, adventure time, the hobbit, batman, marvel, doctor who, Star Wars, legos etc… If I could go to a place that everyone is in the same mindset, it would almost literally become a dream come true! I had a dream that the whole world loved ninja turtles like me haha. Please send me!!

    Autobots rule!!!!!

  26. Alexandria Evans says:

Between paying family back for helping with medical bills, saving up for college, and what feels like a billion other things, being able to get a scholarship to SLC Comic Con would be truly amazing!

  27. Amanda Erickson says:

I would absolutely love to go! I’ve never been to any con before and I would absolutely love to have SLComicCon as my first ever! I’ve heard amazing things about last year! Also, it’s my birthday that weekend and I would love to be able to go for my birthday as well! Talk about a great birthday present!

  28. Karen Chidester says:

So my 13 yr old Grandson can go! He has never been and he loves Bumblebee and anything comic book related!

  29. Cat De Freitas says:

Hi, I’ve been trying to get some tickets for comic-con. I took my roommate to last years comic-con. I’m just an ordinary person that wants a chance to see Stan Lee one more time. We had our pictures taken with him. We would like to get his autograph this time. I am just another fan of Stan Lee’s work. Actually we both are. Thank you for the opportunity and for reading our comments.

  30. Chris Kendell says:

Seeing the San Diego Comic Con go on along with the many other “cons” and seeing little snipits of what goes on looks like an event everyone who has any liking into sci-fi/non-fiction should go to at least once!
Would love to win some tickets so i can have more money for mercy!

  31. Tiffanie says:

I would like to win tickets because it would be my only means of being able to go. Money is rough, and bills are high. I want to take my daughter, fiancee and nieces to experience Comic Con, because experiences are everything and I want to be able to give them these experiences.

  32. chabrise says:

I would love to be able to take my husband up to comic con, but the money we were saving up has to go to a new car, our engine blew on the freeway last week. We were so excited that Jason David Frank is coming back, and for his birthday! My husband convinced me that we should name our son Tommy. Even if we don’t win thank you for the opportunity!

  33. Josh says:

I loved going to the first Salt Lake Comcon. This year I am not able to afford tickets as a poor college student just trying to make ends meet. I wold love to be able to visit this years Comcon.

  34. Jill Smith says:

My 12-year-old son has been growing out his hair for months so he can dress as Loki for his first Comic Con. My family just found out we have over $150,000 in medical bills that our insurance company is refusing to cover. I just don’t have the heart to tell him we won’t be able to go.

  35. Whisper says:

Hi, my name is Whisper. My best friend means the world to me and she is the biggest fan of Cameron Dallas, Nash, Hayes and Carter. She got me hooked too. But I don’t have the money to take her myself but I want to do this for her because I know it would mean so much… This maybe sound like a dumb reason but we have been friends since 1at grade. That’s over 9 years now. Something to show her how much our friendship means.. I would literally do anything for those tickets. Thank you for reading!

  36. Georgia says:

I have no excuses. I’ve never been and it would be awesome to be able to go and experience it. Thanks for the opportunity.

  37. chase oliver says:

I would love to win so that my girlfriend and her daughter could come to comic con with me. neither of us have the money for both tickets and spending money for the con but it would be the first con either of them have gone to. I would love for us all to go together and enjoy all of the fun salt lake comic con has to offer. please please please pick me so I can take them and we can have a fantastic time together 🙂

  38. Barbara says:

After being out of work for over a year. I finally got a job. But not in time to buy a ticket. I scholarship would be great! I know I will pay it forward. Thanks much.

  39. Lars says:

Already have my tickets. I would love to have a ticket to offer my students as an incentive! I teach high school. I have some great students who deserve a reward once in a while.

  40. Brigitte says:

I wouldn’t even begin to think I deserve a scholarship, but going to comic con with my hubs would be such a fun date!! And with three kids, those don’t happen very often 😉

  41. Amber levinson says:

My husband would love to go to comic con with our teenage son. My husband is a huge comic fan. He has all sorts of toys, even his from the 80s when he was little. He has MS, works full time and goes to school. He is a great husband and father and he deserves to have some fun!!!

  42. Kellie Graham says:

I’m so excited to go to SL Comic Con! We brought our 12 yr old daughter to Fantasy Con which was also in the Salt Palace and she loved it! She suffers from several mental disorders, but being at that con was one of her most memorable times in her life for so many reasons. She got to see so many different costumes and watched magicians and aerial acrobatics and even got to meet and get to know a beautiful violinist (Julia) who, at the end of the con, gave my daughter her violin! It was amazing to see so much happiness in my daughter’s eyes and I can only hope she continues to have wonderful experiences like that at cons. I can’t wait to see what our 3 yr old thinks about cons!

  43. Helga Burnham says:

My Son wants to go really bad and I would love for him to go but senting 2 children to college and 3 to High School has exhausted our funds so I would love to get the tickets for him as a late Birthday present.

  44. Tyler Rubio says:

I have been attending different sci/fi, video game, fandom, and comic conventions for almost a year now. I have a decent collection of comic ,games, and action figures and this would be a good opertunity to extend that collection. I also am very interested in cosplay and meeting people like Monica lee or riddle will give a nice chance to learn more about it. I will also be happy to meet some of my favorite actors and artists. my mother also wants to attend to she can flirt with Manu Bennit.

  45. Tiffany G says:

I would love to win tickets to Comic Con. I am a big fan of all things anime, manga, comic, sci-fi, action/adventure, and fantasy related. Thanks for the chance and potential to win. As a single mother, it is difficult to afford fun activities such as comic con.

  46. holly Cherry says:

Im a single mother of 3 kids. My youngest daughter is having some issues and really wants to go. She is dressing up as Belle. I would reslly like to be able to take her but money is tight right now. We would love to be able to attend..

  47. Kim says:

I would love to go to Comic Con! My husband is a BIG computer/gaming nerd and I’m more of a “people-person”. Comic Con is one thing that we look forward to together – the best of both worlds!

  48. David hales says:

My 4 year old, wants to go so badly, and I want to take him. He just loves all the costumes, and super heroes, etc. it would be so great to take him, and see his face light up at everything. This would be great to win!!

  49. Steve r says:

I’ve named my son after a Spider-man character, but being new parents were kind of strapped on cash after all the nursery stuff, diapers, formula, etc. it would be really awesome to be able to go

  50. Amanda says:

I posted in the comments of the previous scholarship offering and I will post again. Things have been getting worse as the days go by. Depression is something scary–it turns loved ones into unrecognizable creatures. A shell of who we once were. For my husband it seems like their is no end to his pain. He really wants this, but he doesn’t know if he could afford it. He wants to be with his friends and family. But each day I see him just lose a little more hope that things will work out as we get closer to the convention.
Hopefully I can surprise him and see him smile again.

  51. Valerie Hollis says:

I would love to win tickets to comic con. I am a full time student and when I’m not in school I’m working at the hospital. I need a break from my life and I have never been to comic con because I can’t afford it. I hope I win these tickets 🙂

  52. Jeni says:

As a college student, I can’t afford to go or and do things very often. I’m on a cup of noodles diet ! I was able to go one day to fan x last year and I want to cosplay soooooo bad. This is also something I haven’t been able to afford but I have been getting really good at face painting so if I can go, I’m going to put together a really sick looking joker 42 face. Please please pick me!

  53. Errol mirza says:

I have always wanted to go to comic con ever since I have known about it. Never been able to go to any comic cons before and heard the last years was amazing. I moved to US from Pakistan and work and strive hard to get my dreams come true. I’m finally able to live free And enjoy where as in Pakistan I was persecuted. I have been a comic geek and a film buff all my life and I’d like to go to comic con and meet my fav TV show cast. The cast of Arrow, they are amazing. Plz consider me for a ticket

  54. Casey Allen says:

My favorite car of all time is a yellow Camaro. I would love to take my baby girl in it and get her hooked on Chevy as well as comics! I am grateful for the chance to be looked at and hope you consider me.

  55. Emma says:

To score some tickets to Salt Lake Comic Con would be my Cinderella dream come true! There is this big nerd inside of me that is dying to come out, but has been held back by school and work. Now is my opportunity! I wish I had more money to purchase some tickets, but my whole life savings has been sucked away by my college tuition! For the past couple months I have been trying to get some tickets by commenting on a lot of the facebook posts, and I even designed three T-shirt designs in hopes of winning some tickets, but good fortune has not been a friend of mine. I would greatly appreciate the chance to attend the biggest and greatest Comic Con of all time! Thank you for this opportunity.

  56. Brett says:

If you give me free comic con tickets I will really, really, strongly, emphatically, enthusiastically, verbosely, consider buying a car from you (especially if you can offer me a scion of Bumblebee)!!!

  57. Leslie says:

I think this would be a great occasion for a mommy and daughters date. I guess I could bring the hubby too.

  58. Jade W says:

Being low on money and gas, getting a scholarship ticket would make it possible to pay for the gas to get to Salt Lake City Comic Con, which I really, really, want to go to. Eve Myles and John Barrowman will be there, guys!

  59. Trent D. Silvernail says:

I believe I should be a recipient as my family and I have helped several of the Chevy and GMC dealers through the family business all these years, Rhino Linings and Terry’s Tops. All the help, discounts, and referrals; I believe it should be a thanks to us after everything we have done for all the dealerships and the community.

  60. Katelyn says:

I would love to get entered because I love fantasy and never have been to comic con. I’ve wanted to go but money is tight. I’m a senior in high attending college as well and to go have fun at comic con would make a great senior year

  61. Sharlene Lewis says:

I am asking for a scholarship for my daughter. She worked hard in school to be able to go to college at Snow. Unfortunately, she is unable to afford to go to Comic Con without a scholarship. It would be greatly appreciated if one was granted to her.

  62. Katie says:

I’ve wanted to attend since I moved here, but working in the nonprofit arts I’m on a tight budget.

  63. Hyrum Haynes says:

I would love to win a ticket for my wife. My daughter bought her own ticket, and I scraped up enough for my son and me to go on Saturday. It would be a great surprise for my wife, and would enable my whole family to attend on Saturday. Thanks for the chance!

  64. Debbie Davis says:

I would love to win a ticket for my younger daughter to attend with her older sister, they both love Comic Con. We are so lucky in the state of Utah to have Comic Con. She would then be able to write her report for school to be excused on the first two days. She has said that going to Comic Con is a learning educational experience, because of the different panels offered on writing, and art. She would be able to experience the diverse aspects of Comic Con, all the different areas offered.

  65. Jeff Parrish says:

Lost my job in a layoff this year. Was at the 1st last year and REALLY wanted to make Comic Con an annual event for my son and I. This would really help us out and allow us to have our one event this summer. This combat veteran appreciates your consideration.

  66. Mal says:

I’ll take the VIP tix and take my daughter because if I get them i’ll buy a couple of regular tix for Mr Fullmer and his daughter. That way we both get to take our daughters instead of just one of us.

  67. Tammy Brower says:

I would love tickets for my son and 11 year old grandson. They are both comic and gaming fans and were able to go to Comic-Con last spring. They have not been able to afford tickets this time due to the start of school and my grandsons participation in peewee football. He’s been heartbroken at not being able to attend.

  68. Lisa Jane Laird says:

Completely LOVE SL Comic Con – it was my first ever Con last year which is saying a lot considering I was owned a small, but awesome comic and game store, Adventures Unbound, in Cedar City, UT. I never attended “that other Con”, but gave away all my free tix through the years to the struggling college kids at SUU that would one day become famous in their own right for comic and game art or scripting. I would love to see my cool former customers and support their artists booths and panels, as I am now a broke college employee and no longer a broke comic and game store owner. Please grant me the opportunity to continue my love for all things Vertigo, DC, Marvel, Dark Horse and indy titles, show some love to our Utah artists, and bring home my enthusiasm and trophies to give to my school’s newest student club, the Snow College Justice League.

  69. Candy Cross says:

I have been wanting to go to comic con for years. As a single mother I never had the money to go to San Diego, now that we have it here in SLC, I would love to be able to take my son.

  70. Never Been Kissed says:

I’m a 37 year old single woman still waiting for her first kiss! The guy I have a crush on LOVES Comic Con and everything nerdy; it’s one thing I can bring up and be sure the conversation won’t stall. I love nerdy stuff too (Dr. Who is my biggest nerd-crush– and my ‘boy-crush’ went as Matt Smith to his last Con). But as a Special Education teacher who is also in school for a Master’s degree I don’t make the ‘big bucks’, and have student loans coming out my ears. So I haven’t ever felt justified in spending money on cons. I would love to go to Comic Con, impress the guy I like, and finally get to see the cool stuff all my friends have been talking about. You never know, it could just open up the doors to a lasting romance…

  71. Caitlin Cross says:

I really want to take my best friend to comic-con and he’s never been. But he is one of the biggest nerds I know. He really wants to go but he doesn’t have the money. So I would love it if I could surprise him with this ticket!

  72. Tamara Copley says:

My kids loved FanX. I even want to include Comic Con in the book I’m writing right now. It would be nice to research this particular Comic Con, but it’s not in the budget. It would be great to win tickets.

  73. Ben says:

In the words of Bumble Bee. “…………………………” Which I assume would be, ” even Megatron can’t mess with the awesomeness of SLCC Comicon … Even if it alies itself with SDCC” autobots, transform!

  74. Angela masters says:

I’ve never won anything in my life. I’ve never given myself anything nice. I was never able to and still can not. I am a mother of two, and married to a man who gives all to his family. Everything we have to give goes towards our little ones. We would like to have a memory that keeps our love alive, that re lights our little fire. What would be better than actually getting to nerd together for the first time in. Long time.

  75. Glen Carpenter says:

As a Drama Teacher I can see so many benefits to going to comic con, not only to see great ideas for props and items for costumes. But my students would love to see the pictures I could take. But with being a teacher, money is tight and I probably wouldn’t be able to go any other way. Thanks for the opportunity!

  76. Becky James says:

I volunteer at the shows to spend time with my kids. My sister and I have talked about going to “ComicCon” for years but never have the money or time and the same time.
This year I’ll be there and she can’t afford it. We’re both disabled and soon won’t be doing things like this.
    Please choose Linda Brady

    Thank you,
    Becky James

  77. Natasha Leedom says:

I would love for my sisters and I to be able to show off our homemade group cosplay. Together we make an awesome cosplay team

  78. kaley peterson says:

I would love to take my son to comic con…I am a hard working single mother I don’t get a lot of time at all to spend with my son…the yesterday he asked when I was going to be done with school because he feels like he doesn’t have a mom any more…just a robot mom…this completely broke my heart…I guess in the middle of stressing on deadlines and good grades to make a better life for us I neglected the little things like playing minecraft until 2 in the weekends and going on bike rides to the park….he is a nerd ball like me and this would be the coolest thing for us just a day to ourselves seeing all the nerd things…I would love to take him we are also do strapped for cash with school looming all the extra cash I had went to his school stuff… he deserves it so much

  79. Ellie says:

Me and my little brother really want to go with our cousins, but they already have their tickets and we are ticketless. Don’t let them leave us behind. 😉

  80. Ellie says:

Me and my little brother really want to go with our cousins, but they already have their tickets and we are ticketless. Don’t let them leave us behind! 😉

  81. MMH says:

I wanted to go to Comic Con since I heard about it a couple of years ago. Who knew that there would be a convention of all the actors and actresses who play in my favorite tv series and movies. To get to meet them, ask them questions, and pick their brains on all the cool specs that I have only seen on screen would be the absolute coolest thing ever! EVER! I hesitated to attend because I’m in a wheelchair and really don’t want the high volume of people to trample me. However, after much thought of this once in a lifetime opportunity to be part of this special event, I’m willing to be brave and take my chances, especially if I can get some help. Thanks so much for the chance to win this scholarship. It would really mean so much to me. Maybe Prof. X will make a special appearance and we can be buddies?

  82. Adrienne says:

I am a geek at heart and my kids loved going to Fan X this spring. I was trying to save up for ComiCon this year but I lost my job this summer. My family would love to see all the stars and activities again, getting tickets would make our day!

  83. Chantell Fuller says:

I’m a recent graduate from BSU. I would love to be blue to meet Mr. Barrowman. He is one of my favorite actors, and it would be a dream come true. My dad and I really want to. Go, and he is the one that got me started in all things geeky. We are struggling to make ends meet and it would be amazing to be able to make it down to SLCC! It would be our first Con ever.

  84. Tamara Arndt says:

I know so many families that could use this in their lives right now! My SIL recently lost her job because she chose her family over her job. She’s a single mother, looking out for her 4 kids, and has MS.
My other SIL is a wife, and mom of two, who enjoy Studio C. She volunteered at FanX in April, but was unable to take her family to enjoy it as a family. They’d love to meet the cast. Her husband has MS.
My sister, is recently a single mom, working hard, and trying to provide for her daughter, and has zero time for herself. She was brave enough to walk away from an abusive relationship, and her husband forced her and her daughter out of their home.
PLEASE, help me get one of these families to Comic Con!!!!

  85. Jen Johnson says:

Never been and have wanted to go. money is tight. LOVE BUMBLEBEE! You guys are awesome for doing this

  86. Jon Smith says:

I have been a comicbook fan ever since I was a young boy. Reading those I could identity with, spiderman because he was just a kid with amazing circumstances that would over whelm adults. Superman because he was an alien that over came the traditional meaning over an E.T. Batman because he was orphaned at an age when your parents are all you know. I could list all the heroes I have from comicbooks, but the point I’m trying to make is that without comics generations of kids and adults would be without these heroes. We were wouldn’t have the Salt Lake Comic Con. Not the movies, cartoons or some many other things that have shaped not only the person I’ve grown to become but the world.

  87. Je-Ve' Despain says:

Our small family would love to be the recipients of one of these Comic Con Scholarships! My husband and I have two children (a 3 year-old girl and a 3 week-old boy) who would definitely benefit from some nerd education.

On a more serious note, we attended Salt Lake Comic Con last year, but we missed out on a lot of events and guests (including Stan Lee) due to some medical issues and having to attend several doctors appointments. Sadly we discovered that we were having a miscarriage that same weekend.

We would love the opportunity to attend Comic Con again this year and be able to experience the full event, but we haven’t been able to afford tickets on our own due to the medical bills leftover from our newborn son.

    Thank you for your consideration!

  88. Trisha Lindquist Gibbs says:

I nominate my son Caden Gibbs. He is 13 almost 14 on Sept. 21st. He is an amazing & great kid!!! He absolutely loves Bumblebee. He talks about him all the time and has always wanted to see him. He loves cars and his favorite car is Bumble Bee.
My son has Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, it is a muscle wasting disease which results in progressive muscle deterioration and takes over all muscles including the heart. It’s a fatal, incurable disease and results in death in the early teens to mid-twenties. He is currently in a wheelchair full time since the age of 9. He gets weaker and weaker everyday and is dependent on us for most things with his daily living. This is definitely something that is on his bucket list. I never know when I’m going to lose this amazing person I call my son and would love to make his dreams come true and with your help I can make his day. We don’t have the funds due to my husband working 2 jobs and with me being his primary caretaker & being overwhelmed with bills & medical bills. His brother and sister are also a great help in taking care of Caden. If it is at all possible I would love a scholarship for my family of 5 to make memories and cherish this time we do have with Caden & knock another thing of his bucket list.
I want to thank Rocky Mountain Chevy Dealers & BumbleBee for considering us for a scholarship and making his & our family’s dreams come true!!!

  89. Rose Walker says:

I want to take my girlfriend for her birthday. She has a costume (poison ivy) all picked out. It would be wonderful to get some tickets!

  90. John Polasek says:

Winning tickets would be amazing for my wife and I. Last year we purchased tickets and where very excited to go. Then my stepmother died very unexpectedly and her funeral was the same weekend of comic con and we couldn’t make it to comic con. This year we have been talking about going non stop, but we just don’t have the money to go. If we could win tickets from Rocky Mountain Chevy Dealers Scholarship we would be the happiest young couple at comic con.

  91. Carmilla Puefua says:

My husband and I and our 3 kids went on GA to the FanX and we loved it. We’ve only been here for a year and we wanted to experience something of that magnitude as we’ve just moved from an island. We absolutely loved being there, seeing all the different and unique costumes and especially meeting celebrities.
My kids loved the Optimus and Bumble Bee Cosplay costumes and took pictures with all the Bumble Bee costumes we saw. Thank you for the opportunity to win tickets to experience this again and Im hoping we’ll win. You’re awesome!

  92. Cindie Lindquist says:

Hello RMCD…..I would really like to see my grandson (Caden) and his family be able to go to Comic Con…..(funds are really tight for them)…..he has DMD….and to meet Bumble Bee…..would be a dream come true for him….Bumble Bee has been his favorite ever since the first Transformers Movie…..his favorite car is a yellow Camaro…..(Bumble Bee style)…and to also meet Stan Lee…..creator of so many of his favorite Super Heroes…..would be an extra plus for him…..Please help me cross this off his Bucket List…..tanks….=0)

  93. Rich Michaelson says:

Thank you for the possibility of winning tickets to comic con! My family has had a tough year. Unexpected layoffs, surgery, and money problems have left us unable to attend comic con. I had saved money to take my daughter and two boys but had to use the savings unexpectedly. I would love to be ably to surprise them with tickets and give them something positive to look foreword to. Thanks again for the possibility! Rich

  94. Cindie Lindquist says:

Hello RMCD…..I would really love to see my Grandson (Caden) and his family be able to go to Comic Con…..(funds are really tight for them)….he has DMD…..and to see BUMBLEBEE…..would be a dream come true for him….Bumblebee has been his favorite ever since the first Transformers Movie…his favorite car is a yellow Camaro…(Bumblebee style)….also to meet Stan Lee….creator of many of his favorite Super Heroes….would be an extra plus for him…..Please help me cross this off his Bucket List….tanks….Smiles…=0)

  95. Genevieve Garner says:

Because I’ll wear something sexy. That always deserves a free ticket, right? Lol. (Really, it’s because I’ve never been to a Comic Con and really want to go … and wear something sexy.)

  96. Jennie Ostermiller says:

I am the mother of 2 beautiful teenage nerds. The 3 of us attended Salt Lake Comic Con last year and had the best time, my son Carter who has autism, had the best time of all, he said he “found his people”. We had been planning on attending this year, but we just lost our house and are having to move on October 1st (which is super expensive). The news of losing our home (and having to give up pets) has been so hard on our family, we have had a lot of challenges lately. Being able to go to Comic Con would give us such a boost and some much needed fun and escape from our situation. Thank you for considering us. Jennie

  97. Naomi says:

My fiance and I have been wanting to go since last year but because of financial and health reasons we havent been able to afford tickets. I would love to be able to tell him we are going. Please pick me!!!

  98. Amy Burgess says:

Our little family is in love with all things Geek! My hubby is an IT guy. Last year I started getting really sick with my heart and lungs. The doctors have done tests after test and 2 heart surgeries, but I’m not improving. I now have to be in a wheelchair, as my heart & lungs can’t tolerate a lot of activity, and I’ve been on oxygen since March. I’m 37 and my daughter is a senior this year. I was too sick to attend last year. We made a bucket list…and Comic Con is on it!! I’ve been an RN for 15 years and am so used to taking care of everyone and everything. It’s been very humbling to learn to rely on others to care for me. My husband & daughter deserve to go for taking such great care of me & would be a dream come true for them!! I would write the nerd list of our Fandom but it would be very lengthy! She wears each of her nerd shirts to high school with pride & always preferred Legos over dolls! If I’m well enough I’d love to tag along with my oxygen equipment in tow. Thank you for your consideration!!!

  99. Anna Spens says:

We just love Comic Con! I’ve been unemployed for 6 months and just don’t have the money to take my teenagers and myself…but would still love to go!

  100. Cassie says:

Though we already bought our tickets right when they first came out it would be nice to be able to get a scholarship to attend. My husband and I just had our sixth child and we live pay check to pay check just staying afloat. It’s our anniversary and my husband’s birthday around the same time as comic con. We don’t qualify for any of the discounted tickets. It would just be nice to get some of the money back we paid so we can celebrate our marriage and his birthday.

  101. Dani-licous says:

Excuse me while I channel Patrick O’Leary’s ‘Nobody Knows It But Me’ in my poem below:

There’s a nerdy place that exists
    Where people go to escape
And many know it but me.

    The common doesn’t go there
    And reality stays home
And many know it but me.

    It’s far over town
    And downtown is far
It’s over the freeway and the river

    And whenever you get there
    That’s where it all begins
And many know it but me.

Please give me and my new hubby a chance to experience what many could say is the ‘heartbeat’ of nerdy kind in Utah. 🙂

    Thank you!

  102. Peter Conover says:

Since I was 8 or 9 I’ve been a Tolkien fan, and a sci-fi and fantasy buff. It would be a lifelong dream for me to be able to experience in real life what has inspired me for so long. I would just be a happy kid 🙂

  103. Carrie says:

These tickets wouldn’t be for me, I don’t even live in Utah, I would really like for you to consider a little boy named Caden Lindquist, this is on his bucket list, Caden has Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, I won’t put the facts about this disease in my comnent, just know that the affects of this disease are devastating, there is currently no cure. I know this would really make this little boy’s day if he were to be chosen for one of your scholarships. Please, please consider Caden for this!! Thank you!

  104. JaNae says:

I would love to be able to take my son and nephew to this great event he lost his mother a year ago. I think this would be so much fun for the both of them. Thank you for letting me reply for the scholarship 🙂

  105. Kylee Hall says:

I love going to Cons and seeing all the great costumes and awesome famous people. I just moved back out here and am not entirely sure I have the funds to go. Even if I only got to go for Saturday, that would be fantastic. Salt Lake Comic Con is where everyone can have a great time.

  106. Jake Fuller says:

I’d like to nominate my younger brother, Remy Fuller for the tickets. He was suppose to go the first year of SLCC. Unfortunately he could not as he welcomed his first child into the world that week. Than he was suppose to come with me to FanX but due to a loss of job and the new baby, the funds werent there. So I’m thinking if he was able to have some good luck that all the stars would align and he’d be able to join me this year to SLCC. He is still tight on money taking care of his family and on track to graduate this year in a marketing degree (which reminds me…you guys hiring for entry level? He is pretty savvy with advertising.

  107. Brittany Casorla says:

I would like to nominate my 8 year old son Landon for the scholarship tickets. Landon loves everything to do with comics and super heroes. He absolutly loves Stan Lee and his favorite part of marvel movies is trying to find the Stan Lee cameo! We even call our son Lando after Lando Landon Calrissian. He loves being named after a star wars charater. Landons dad is the one who has introduced landon to all of these amazing things. It would be so amazing for landon and his dad to be able to go to comic con together and make lasting memories. Lando is such a great little boy who would give up anything he has for someone else. He wants nothing more than to dress up in one of his costumes and hit the floor at slc comic con. I really hope you will consider Landon as it would be the highlight of his year. Thank you so very much!

  108. Dawna McKnight says:

Well, I just turned 50 this year and I really need to graduate to Salt Lake Comic Con. I need some Barbara Eden, The Hulk, Hercules and more in my life!!! 🙂

  109. Kelsey McKnight says:

I need some time with my dad at Salt Lake Comic Con. It would be some awesome time to show the other side of me and mingling with Celebrities at Salt Lake Comic Con.

  110. John McKnight says:

Salt Lake Comic Con sounds like a fun place to take my daughter. I would like to meet The Hulk, Barbara Eden for my wife, Hercules and many many more. I really want to get a grant to Salt Lake Comic Con!

  111. michael willis says:

I was at the 1st Salt lake Comic Con, where i had Stan Lee autograph my forearm the next day i got it tattooed i would love to come to this one so i could show him this tat.

  112. heather acuff says:

Its been a rough year to say the least. Hubby and I both laid off, had to short sale the house and repo the car. Then we moved to UT (we are from Texas) hoping things would turn around, but its just been one thing after another. My car that we just got has needed repair after repair, most recently a new cat converter. Hubby works days while I stay home with the kids, and then i work graves just to make ends meet. Our 2 (almost 3) year old is really in to cosplay and loves conventions, and would very much enjoy being able to tag along. Especially with the TARDIS there…she loves Doctor Who 🙂 I just want to be able to take her out for a good time after not being able to do anything fun for so long.

  113. Kevin W. says:

My wife and I just got married two weeks ago and salt lake comic con was one of our first dates. We would love to re-visit some of those first moments together as we start our marraige together.

  114. Jared Vernon says:

For me, there’s nothing better than seeing the excitement shine in my kids’ eyes when they are about to meet one of their favorite movie stars. Or when they run to see the new comics and they get to talk with the creators and artists. Personally, my favorite part is being able to meet my favorite fantasy authors, and then share those fantastical worlds with my kids. Nothing beats sharing my “geek side” with my younglings, and seeing them with their own little “geek sides”. Those are my reasons why I’d like to go and share in the Salt Lake Comic Con experience.

  115. Moroni G says:

My sister was able to attend the first Con last year and that is when I got interested and saw that it was a great opportunity to show off your inner geek. I would really like to go this time and meet some of my favorite people. At school I would tell people about Comic Con and they would just look at me weird. I just want to tell these people that there is nothing wrong with being a nerd. Getting the money is just hard right now because I’m in school and my single mom just bought a house so I cant just ask for it. So this would probably be my only chance to go. But even so there is always next time!

  116. Dadby Gallahad says:

I cant believe how big this has gotten! I would really like to be a part of this Comic Con and just have fun. I was saving up for it but with student loans and helping out my family the money had to be spent there. Well priorities come first right!? But I just wish that I didn’t have to feel that way just once and winning this scholarship would make that happen for me. It just makes me happy to see that their are so many generous people out there willing to help! Thanks so much Rocky Mountain Chevy! 😀

  117. Elvia Amaya says:

My son has been wanting to go to Salt Lake Comic con ever since her heard that Jason David Frank was coming. That is all he is able to talk about how it would be so cool to meet the Green Power Ranger. I really wish I could have him go. I really wanted to surprise him with some tickets for his birthday but with all the back to school shopping and bills well I just don’t think I could be to. It would really mean so much to me and him to win one of these scholarships.

  118. A. C. S. says:

I want to go to Comic Con to celebrate my birthday. What a fun event. I’m a young fan and I really get into it. I have dressed in full costume for both that I I have gone to. To win tickets would mean a lot for me.

  119. McKenzie Meade says:

Hey you should pick me because it’s my birthday the day after! (Sept. 7) Please let me celebrate with you. 🙂

  120. Troy Darrington says:

My Son is 9 years old and he has been a fan of Bumblebee since he fisrt got into transformers. he can tell you which version of Bumblebee is in what movie and/or cartoon. He has to have every Bumblebee he can find and I am willing to bet he has multiples of the same one, I can’t keep track of them all. For him to be able to attend Comic Con as a newbie and see Bumblebee would be a dream come true for him.

  121. Windie Darrington says:

I would like to nominate my 9 year old son Takoda. To say he is a true fan would be an understatement. He spends most of his waking hours reading and studying all things Marvel, Transformers and SkyLander boy and girl. He has been counting down to Comicon since early spring. He has had to deal with some pretty tough things this past year that no 9 year old should have to face and the fact that after 2 weeks off work unpaid to tend to his ailing Grandfather my heart breaks at the thought of telling him “we can’t afford to go”. To go see his admired Super Heros with his Super Hero (his dad) would be the highlight of his young precious life thus far.

  122. Anna Spens says:

We love ComicCon! As a single Mom ComicCon is not in our budget…but I would love to take my teenagers and enjoy this great event!

  123. Laura says:

I would love to win tickets so I can give them away to friends. I already bought a multipass for my BFF but I would like to be able to send her hubby too. They need a little vacation before their kid is born!

  124. Jamie Watkins says:

My boyfriend and I would really like to go all three days. We are traveling from out of the state. My sister lives in Utah and this is going to be a good bonding time with her and my nephews, especially for my boyfrined. 🙂 Her hussband is working, we could help wrangle the 3 boys and help her have a great time too!!

  125. Eric Hurstfield says:

I had the money set aside to get 2 VIP passes to comic con but due to a recent death in the family had to use that money to send my husband to Minnesota for the funeral of his grandpa. I would still love to go to comic con but being able to be with family at a time of greving was more important. If you choose me it would be a welcome gift after a hard month.

  126. Sheri M says:

I would love to have my daughter experience Comic Con. She has loved comic books and graphic novels since she was in Jr high. She is now 18 and just starting her first year at Weber St University. When I asked her why she liked reading comics and graphic novels, she went into detail about how she never felt she fit in, that she didn’t look like the “Barbies” so when she met people at the comic book stores she visits, it gave her a sense of belonging. They opened her imagination and now she loves to read. The people who read and understand the comic world, are so accepting and don’t judge others on how different they are, and that is so important to instill in our youth! I’m very proud of all she has overcome, she is so strong and caring and is a great example of how we should all treat others!

  127. Kira Gudgell says:

I would love to be able to go again. It would almost be like my birthday present, since this is so close to my birthday.Hehe.

My dad raised my sisters and myself on comic books, games, and anime since I could remember. He would take us to the comic book store to look at the comic books, and read them. We always had discussions about them, and we said we would go to comic con one day together. We were going to come this September, but unfortunately, my dad has suffered through several strokes. All my money I had to go, went to help my family stay stable instead.
Cosplay, gaming, nerding, etc. has what I’ve always done, always had, and I would love to have the pleasure to do it here as well, if you give me the chance.

  128. Brandon says:

I nominate my daughter Laney. She is turning 5 later this year and loves pop culture. She takes her brother’s super hero costumes and dresses up in them just to watch tv. She is amazing at guessing which movie a I am quoting (particularly Ghostbusters and Back to the Future). She went to the original comic con last year dressed as Spider-Man. She loves to pretend. Her imagination is limitless. She just started preschool and would love to tell everyone that she won tickets to comic con for show and tell! Thanks for your consideration.

  129. nichole says:

I would like to nominate my husband Brandon! Brandon deserves to win some tickets for this year’s comic con because he works so hard for his family. Brandon works extra hours and does whatever else he can to provide for his wife and 3 kids. Brandon has been trying to win tickets this year since money is tight but hasn’t won any yet. I am hoping to take this in my own hands and let someone know how much he deserves to go. Brandon has raised our 3 kids to love all things geeky! Our kids have been begging to go to comic con and I know how bad it bothers Brandon that he can’t take them. I hope you will consider Brandon for these tickets as they would be put to wonderful use. Thank you so very much!

Hoping for a ticket for my husband! He’s a hard worker – 12 to 14 hour days often – in the recycling business. And he cleaned the basement yesterday on his day off!!! HUGE sci-fi fan. (Has a candle burning by his Destiny poster until it comes out on Sept 9th – yes it’s a Destiny shrine.) My kids and I were lucky to get passes at the press conference – he couldn’t join us because…you guessed it, he was working. Budget is so tight right now – would love him to be able to go with us. He deserves it <3

THANK YOU Rocky Mountain Chevy Dealers. The squeal that my little Man let out when I told him he and his Dad get to go to Comi Con will always be cherished. He didn’t disappoint last night after homework he did all his homework on who will be attending and I am pretty sure he has the place mapped out with an exact time line of where to be and when. We are so grateful for this opportunity, THANK YOU!
